The Jockey Club is the largest horse racing organisation in the UK. They own and run 15 of Britain’s most well-known racecourses, including Cheltenham, Epson Downs and Aintree. They also own the renowned thoroughbred breeding farm, The National Stud, in Newmarket.

Founded in 1750, The Jockey Club was originally formed as an upper class social club, before becoming the main governing body in UK horse racing. In 2006, they passed on this governing role to British Horseracing Association and began to focus more on organising events and hosting some of the worlds most famed horse races.
