Shannon Duffley – Shannon enjoys being organised and working with and being around horses. She is originally from London but chose Hartpury to further develop her knowledge in Equine Health and Wellbeing as well as the business side of the Equine Industry.

Shannon’s fact: The Jockey Club was founded by a group of men who shared a passion for horseracing in the year 1750. It began in London (Pall Mall and St. James Street) and soon relocated to Newmarket.

Emily White– Emily is a good problem solver. She enjoys eventing and has also recently taken up an interest in racing after beginning work at a stud last June. She has been a Hartpury student for almost three years now after leaving home at sixteen to join the college and has continued her studies to university.

Emily’s fact: The jockey club are the first racecourse or group in the world to stage a race day exclusively open to female jockeys

Jess’ fact: The Jockey Club is the largest commercial horse racing organisation in the United Kingdom, with the record prize money for The Festival™ 2019 was over £4,590,000 and the most of any Jump festival in the world with over £1,000,000 per day. £625,000 was the prize money available for the Cheltenham Gold Cup.

Katie Humphries (Kate) – Kate enjoys horse riding above anything. When she’s not at university, she lives in Lincolnshire, which is home to the RAF Red Arrows team, which are great to watch but not so great when you have a spooky horse!

Kate’s fact: One of the Jockey Club’s racecourses, Aintree, hosts one of the UKs most famous horse races – The Randox Grand National. This race hands out £1million in prize money and attracts a worldwide audience of 600 million (Grand National Fans, 2019).

Caitlin Morgan: Caitlin is a task oriented driven person who likes to stay organised and plan for everything. She is originally from Wales and she loves baking and riding her horse Annabelle.

Caitlin’s fact: Racing welfare is The Jockey Club’s charity and it was founded in the year 2000. It was a combination of multiple other racing charities and it was done to provide one singular charity responsible for racing wellbeing. They offer help to all people involved in racing including stable, stud and racecourse staff as well as those in associated professions. Their head office is in Newmarket, but they have multiple regional offices who have a national network of officers. Their vision is to support everyone from the horseracing and breeding industry.
